OWINGS MILLS, Md. (WBFF) - Lowe's is officially expected to join Costco at a new development set for the former Owings Mills Mall site.
That development is now being called "Mill Station"; it had previously been named "Owings Mills Town Center."
Baltimore County confirmed Monday in a news release that Lowe's has signed a lease for a space and will start construction on a 132,825-square-foot building in June.
The home-improvement retailer is expected to open in January 2018 and will include a 21,587-square-foot garden center, according to the news release.
Construction on the Mill Station shopping center began in early 2018, according to the news release.
It is expected to bring 250 jobs to the area.
“Lowe’s will be a great addition to the area, along with several other popular shopping and eating destinations that Owings Mills and Randallstown residents can look forward to having right in their own backyard,” said County Council Chair Julian E. Jones, Jr.
